Our Spicy Robusta is produced around the village of Rende Nao on the Indonesian island of Flores, where award-winning arabica coffees are produced. In recent years however, farmers have increasingly shifted to robusta because it's more resilient and high yielding, especially in a fluctuating climate. But robusta coffee is often marketed as inferior and therefore treated as such. That's why we have been working together for several years to upgrade the quality to specialty level. And that has worked out for both our taste buds and the livelihoods of farmers in Rende Nao.
